Spoils of Summer Art Class

I've just finished an enjoyable week of art lessons from the fantastic Sam Mullen and, for one day, the brilliant Sheila Mullen.

Day one began with a charcoal still life, which I only half finished. The parts I did finish I'm pretty pleased with:

Next was a still life with soft pastels, which again I didn't finish (I did finish some things. Honest):

I finished this! A landscape, from a photograph, in oil. My first time using this medium. I'm happy with the result:

A self portrait in oil pastels with a wonky eye. Somehow, I didn't notice the wonky eye until today. Maybe I actually have a wonky eye:

An oil painting again. Trying to depict a drumkit, but in an impressionistic symbolic sort of way - this would be a mad way to set up a kit:

Another landscape, this time in oil pastels. I'm pretty disappointed with this one. Bit of a mess:

Possibly my favourite thing, drawn on the last day. Just a wee thing scribbled in pen in the Crichton garden:

Overall a lot of fun and a real eye-opener. Recommended!
