The Nith, From The Suspension Bridge

Tweaked. But the question is, for the better?

Camera flash reflection is an annoyance. Here is a crappier quality version, but without the reflections:

How'd it get made how'd it get made!?

Here is my submission for Earwolf's search for a new HDTGM logo.

Logo Competition

Inspired heavily by clapper-boards and toilets. Heavily.

Spoils of Summer Art Class

I've just finished an enjoyable week of art lessons from the fantastic Sam Mullen and, for one day, the brilliant Sheila Mullen.

Day one began with a charcoal still life, which I only half finished. The parts I did finish I'm pretty pleased with:

Next was a still life with soft pastels, which again I didn't finish (I did finish some things. Honest):

I finished this! A landscape, from a photograph, in oil. My first time using this medium. I'm happy with the result:

A self portrait in oil pastels with a wonky eye. Somehow, I didn't notice the wonky eye until today. Maybe I actually have a wonky eye:

An oil painting again. Trying to depict a drumkit, but in an impressionistic symbolic sort of way - this would be a mad way to set up a kit:

Another landscape, this time in oil pastels. I'm pretty disappointed with this one. Bit of a mess:

Possibly my favourite thing, drawn on the last day. Just a wee thing scribbled in pen in the Crichton garden:

Overall a lot of fun and a real eye-opener. Recommended!

Bukowski

A man I've been reading a fair bit lately. But before I ever read Bukowski, I had heard Bukowski:

Ghostbusters Goodie Bag

"Back Off Man. I'm A Scientist"

And here's the trailer for the often overlooked original version:

A clever chap called Adam Bertocci has overthunk Ghostbusters. The piece needs to be read in several shifts, but is fascinating. Warning - incredibly detailed analysis follows:

Boss

Dear Mr Springsteen,
I don't know when your next album will come out or what it will sound like but please consider this for the cover artwork.
Cheers.

Small But Disastrous Changes To Famous Movies

I suppose I am.

A tribute to one of the best lines in one of the most critically maligned films of 2011. For more (hilarious) information see: How Did This Get Made: Trespass

Superheroes have the much the same dreams as the rest of us

A big thanks to Cracked for awarding me (aka PeterBanning) 12th place in their latest "Photoplasty" contest, "Nightmares of Famous Fictional Characters". Its always an honour to be featured at all. And thank you to Superman for positioning your right leg in such a way that this was possible.

It's a Dan's, Dan's, Dan's World

With Potter out of the picture the sky's the limit. Who knows what other billion dollar movie franchises await the boy Radcliffe? Bond? Let it be Bond.

'Upset The Apple Cart' - Oil Pastels

Full disclosure: This was made using a step-by-step 'how to draw a landscape with a house in it' chapter from an oil pastels book. Apart from very slight modification and lower quality it looks very similar to the picture in the book. Phew. Glad to get that off my chest.
